Summary
overview.
When looking at the three different data sets, there is a noticable trend in the rise of opiod related searches. Often when people search a certain drug more frequently, it means there is an increase in use of said drug. It also shows that while opioid use is on the rise, older drugs, such as cocaine, are on the decline. While cocaine does remain popular to date, there is a massive socital problem that comes with this rise in opioid use. Overdose rates are on the rise because of these extremely addicting and dangerous drugs, and lots of todays youth use these drugs to deal with issues such as depression and anxiety. From my data I was able to provide evidence that opioid addiction is on the rise, and is out competing older drugs such as cocaine. Also through geographical search data, I found that Washington DC is the state most effected by this opiod epedemic.
